Volunteer Callout: Light Up Fest is back, and we need you!

Light Up Fest is back, and we need you!

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers for the Lantern Procession, taking place in Cannon Hill Park on Saturday, 21 February 2026! This event is part of the exciting collaboration between Autin Dance Theatre and MAC Birmingham, and we need your help to make it a magical experience for everyone. Join us again for the 2nd edition of Light Up Fest – a magical lantern procession around the park – as we celebrate creativity, community, and light! We’ll walk together at dusk, filling the park with colour and handmade lanterns created by local schools and community groups, and mingling with other wonderful acts.

Autin Dance Theatre (ADT) is known for its innovative and engaging performances that blend dance, visual arts, and community engagement. Partnering with Midlands Arts Centre, a hub for creativity and culture, this collaboration aims to celebrate the power of light and community art through lanterns procession and vibrant outdoor performances. Together, we strive to create an unforgettable experience that brings the community together in celebration of creativity and expression.

– Assisting with the setup and breakdown of the lantern procession
– Acting as stewards, guiding attendees and ensuring a safe environment
– Engaging with the community and spreading the joy of the festival

Timeline:The Lantern Procession will take place on Sat 21 February 2026 starting at 5:15pm. We will provide specific briefings and shift schedules to all registered volunteers as the event date approaches.
