Up in the Sky – 2025 in review

2025 truly began as a year to look up! 🌤️

This past year we developed and toured our breathtaking new production, Up in the Sky — an extraordinary aerial adventure that has captured the imagination of audiences across the country.

Thanks to our wonderful partners at STEAMhouse (BCU University), The Prospect Building in Bristol and Wild Rumpus, we were able to build a bespoke aerial rig and develop the choreography. This ambitious new work was made possible with the generous support of our funders: Between the Tides, Tees Dance, Redcar & Cleveland Council and Arts Council England.

Up in the Sky is a thrilling aerial experience for families, where dance takes flight and imagination knows no bounds. Performed on a giant 7-metre circular structure, six exceptional performers leap, spin and soar through the air in a playful and heartwarming story about siblings, finding your way, and what makes us feel at home. Co-created with young people, the show combines spectacular aerial movement, evocative music and magical visuals to delight audiences of all ages.

So far, we’ve travelled to seven locations and inspired over 17,000 people to look up and follow the beautiful aerial choreography. We were delighted to premiere the work at fantastic festivals and events including Birmingham Weekender, WOW! Fest, AWEN Wales (Porthcawl and Bridgend), Dancin’ Oxford and Basingstoke Festival.

We can’t wait to continue sharing Up in the Sky in 2026! ✨
