Light Up Fest Workshop Opportunities for Birmingham Schools

Light Up Fest is creative community-led festival of light, joy and hope which takes place in Birmingham. We are looking for schools and community groups that would like to make giant lanterns, crafted from willow and paper in free, hands-on, creative workshops taking place over the course of the festival. No previous skills or experience is necessary to take part. The lanterns are then illuminated for a beautiful light procession through Canon Hill Park.

The park is transformed into a glowing, winter wonderland, with lanterns illuminating pathways and the winter sky. Led by a vibrant array of participants of all ages, LightUp Fest will feature music, lights, as well as the stunning hand-crafted creations made by local residents.

The festival ends with a celebratory gathering at MAC’s outdoor theatre, complete with music, lights, and hot chocolate.

It brings communities together in a fun, friendly and magical exploration of light.  It’s a perfect activity for community groups, primary schools, individual residents, and families, all coming together to bring light and joy to the park.

Please contact our Education and Participation Coordinator Natasha at natasha@autindt.co.uk for more information and bookings.
