Birmingham Weekender

August is a month for celebrating Birmingham. This year, Birmingham Weekender takes over the city from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August 2025, filling the streets with free performances, fantastical installations, pop-up experiences, and brand-new commissions from an exciting mix of regional, national, and international companies. We’re thrilled to present our latest aerial production, Up in the Sky – a breathtaking family adventure where dance quite literally takes flight. Performed on a towering 7-metre circular structure, six phenomenal performers leap, spin, and soar in a playful story about two siblings, finding your path, and the meaning of home. This bold new work blends spectacular aerial choreography, music, and magical visuals to inspire audiences of all ages. Join us at Bullring – Rotunda Square, look up, and let your imagination drift above the clouds!
