What a summer it’s been for Zig Zag!! After an exciting period of research and development, we’ve loved taking our newest show out on its first summer tour and sharing it with audiences across the country.
Zig Zag! is a playful, non-verbal dance-theatre duet where 2 performers transform dozens of simple wooden reels into a constantly changing landscape of choices. Rolling, stacking and scattering the reels, the performers create obstacles, pathways and meeting points, moving between chaos and calm, connection and division. Combining physical comedy, object manipulation and moments of partner acrobatics, this feel-good show invites audiences of all ages to explore collaboration, choices and the joy of building, unbuilding and starting again.
Designed for families and mixed-age audiences aged 5+, Zig Zag! is portable, low/no-power and performed in the round, making it a versatile addition to village greens, high streets, festivals and school playgrounds.
With the generous support of our commissioning partners, Applause Touring and Basingstoke Festival, we’re now almost at the end of our first summer tour. So far, we’ve visited 14 venues and welcomed more than 2,500 audience members to experience Zig Zag! – a fantastic milestone for this new production.
