Parade – The Giant Wheel ON TOUR!

We are thrilled to announce that our new outdoor spectacle Parade – The Giant Wheel has officially kicked off its first summer tour!

Parade – The Giant Wheel is a celebration of the beauty, power, and impact of people from different walks of life coming together. The Giant Wheel is powered by 5 incredibly talented street artists, intergenerational and local community casts and features an original travelling musical soundscape that will leave you mesmerized!

The journey began with a breath taking Premiere performance at Walsall Arboretum last month, in partnership with our friends at Black Country Dance Hub, and we couldn’t have asked for a more incredible response! Passers-by stumbled upon our performance and were captivated by the sound, movement, and stunning visuals. The magic of the moment brought our audiences seamlessly together, as they joined in and moved along with The Giant Wheel.

Culture writer Serena Murphy reviews Parade – The Giant Wheel, praising the performance’s collective element and the way it effectively reflected the Walsall community itself.

“With a charismatic spirit and great attention to detail, Creative Director Johnny Autin creates not only a striking visual performance of community spirit but one that is accessible to all.”

Following a successful Premiere, our exceptional cast and crew continued to shine at Basingstoke Festival and last weekend at Mouth of the Tyne Festival. Witnessing as we united local communities around The Giant Wheel. Together, we celebrated the joy of being together and created unforgettable memories.

“The line between audience and cast are ever-blurring, unfolding to create one large community.”

We are grateful for the overwhelming support and love we have received so far. We can’t wait to bring Parade – The Giant Wheel to more cities and communities across the UK. Stay tuned for updates on our tour schedule and be sure to catch us when we roll into your town!

‘I thought the piece was subline, totally brilliant for our Basingstoke audiences and the community element is possibly the best participatory element to a show we have had during the 12 years of the Basingstoke Festival. Your gang are always so lovely and so professional and so brilliant at what they do.” – Ross Harvie (Basingstoke Festival 2023).

Parade – The Giant Wheel is funded by  Arts Council England and supported by Without Walls – Blueprint, 101 Outdoor Arts, Out There Arts, Midlands Arts Centre – MAC. We are grateful for the support of our producing and commissioning partners including Black Country Dance Hub, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Black Country Touring and Raddlebarn Primary School.
