Parade the giant wheel – uk premiere

🌟 We’re bursting with pride, gratitude, accomplishment, and sheer amazement! Our ambitious and large-scale project “magically” came together at the last minute, as it often does in the performing art world.

We can’t contain our excitement as we reflect on the incredible journey that led us here. Firstly, a huge shoutout to our wonderfully talented live musicians, courtesy of our partnership with Birmingham Royal Conservatoire. Mesmerising music, composed by the brilliant Richard Shrewsbury, transported both the audience and performers into a whole new realm of emotion and imagination.

The true spectacle, however, was witnessing the intergenerational cast of local residents, community groups, and schools coming together with unmatched professionalism and boundless enthusiasm. We feel incredibly lucky to have spent the past two months collaborating with people (now friends) from different walks of life, uniting us all around The Giant Wheel and the power of the community spirit. Sharing the premiere performance with each and every one of them was simply beautiful.

We are still overwhelmed by the response from the audience, even the passers-by who stumbled upon our spectacular in Walsall Arboretum decided to stay, captivated by its sound and movement. Audiences joined in the procession with delight and also moved seamlessly along The Giant Wheel from one static moment to another.

One audience member captured the essence of the experience perfectly. They spoke of frequencies, vibrations, and perfectly balanced energies that transported us all into a blissful trance-like state. Together, we felt an unspoken connection that transcended words—a reminder that it’s okay to simply be in each other’s presence. And that is the powerful message of Parade: The Giant Wheel—to find solace in togetherness.

We are super grateful for our artistic team, especially our extraordinary performers and the talented dance and circus artists who embarked on this creative journey with us. Together, we crafted a show with a new design and structure that pushed our boundaries. It has been a remarkable adventure, and we couldn’t be prouder to take this performance on a debut tour, bringing together community groups, street artists with audiences far and wide.

Final thanks to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and passion to make this project a success. Your dedication has created a sense of awe and wonder for everyone who witnessed the show.

Join us on this incredible journey, as we continue the UK Tour of Parade – The Giant Wheel.
