Under the Same Sky got off to a fantastic start with a joyful launch weekend across Shirley Park and Babbs Mill Park on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of June, bringing together over 800 participants and visitors for 2 days of free creative activities. Families and residents enjoyed kite and lantern making, Low Fly aerial dance workshops, movement sessions and creative play, celebrating creativity, connection and community in Solihull’s parks.
The weekend marked the beginning of this borough-wide community arts project commissioned by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. With overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, the project now continues with free workshops across Solihull, leading to a spectacular public celebration at Tudor Grange Park on Saturday 3 October 2026, where communities will come together to share the creations, stories and connections developed throughout the programme.
